Ktima Gouma Wine Labels Series

The Ktima Gouma (Goumas Estate) winery produces select wines from time-honored native grapes. Recently, they launched a series of three premium single-varietal labels named after their respective varieties: Avgoustiatis, Vostilidi, and Pavlos. The people at Ktima Gouma assigned me to design the series' packaging to convey the products' native character and connoisseur-grade quality and match the winery's new branding. For the packaging design, I created three unique wine labels sharing a common visual approach. Besides the brand logo, each label is adorned by two Greek letters: the variety's first letter in uppercase and its accented letter in lowercase (Αά, Πύ, Βί). The labels also have their own distinct typefaces and colors, applied by thermal-transfer printing to the lowercase letter and the brand name on the logo. These colors are inspired by the respective wines' special characteristics: gold for the fermented and aged Vostilidi, green for the herbs and citrus-flavored Pavlos, and violet for Avgoustiatis with its red and black-fruit aromas. The typographic play on the labels accentuates the wines' single-varietal character and matches the winery's visual identity.
